Q: Am I eligible for a second COVID-19 vaccine booster dose?
A: People 50 and older may receive a second booster dose of either the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least 4 months after receiving a first booster dose of any authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine. View and print eligibility chart.
People 12 and older who have certain kinds of immunocompromise may receive a second booster dose. For people with certain kinds of immunocompromise, the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is authorized for ages 12 and older, and the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine is authorized for ages 18 and older.
The FDA-authorized Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine and the FDA-approved Comirnaty can be used to provide the authorized second booster dose. Similarly, the FDA-authorized Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine and the FDA-approved Spikevax are authorized to provide the authorized second booster dose.
